Paint Protection FAQ

Can Glare Infinity Plus be over applied?

No. None of the products we offer can be over applied. (Note to those that don't know what "over-applied" means: Most other paint protection is not a clear substance. If you put too much on, a milky film will cover the paint. This film can be removed with a huge amount of buffing.) Glare Infinity Plus cannot be over applied because the product is completely transparent.

Does the application of Glare Infinity Plus rely on timing?

No. There is no split-second timing to consider. After applying Glare Infinity Plus, you need to let it dry. This takes about 15 minutes, but it's not crucial to the process if you leave it longer. (Note to those that may not know: Some paint protection systems require that you time application and removal to within 20 seconds. Others require mixing ingredients that have a use-by time of 24 hours. This does not apply to any of our products).

How important is it to apply Glare Infinity Plus out of direct sunlight?

The main problem with sunlight is that it heats. Washing your car in direct sunlight heats metal and dries the water off. When the water dries off, you can easily scratch the clear coat. Applying Glare Infinity Plus in direct sunlight also dries the product faster and is not recommended. Note that all paint protection systems are the same in this regard.

What if it is windy?

Wind also dries water off the car. More importantly (for the application of Glare Infinity Plus), the wind often carries dust. To avoid getting dust on the car as you are applying paint protection, you need to stay out of the wind. Note that all paint protection systems are the same in this regard.

How long does it take?

Allow about 2 hours for a new car if it is your first time. This includes the waiting/drying time of about 15 minutes.

Is it safe to use commercial DIY car wash stations? Will it damage the coating?

Using car wash stations is not ideal because some of them do not filter their water properly and there is therefore a risk of abrasive dirt in the water itself. Also the brushes (whether DIY or automatic wash stations) do cause scratches in the clear coat. If you must use an automatic car wash, use a brushless one. Any damage to the clearcoat can be repaired using Infinity Spider Web Remover and Glare Infinity Plus. It is therefore recommended to apply Glare Infinity Plus if you use a commercial car wash as this will restore the clear coat.
Just one more note: to wash your car at home is cheaper and doesn't take long. There is no queue of people waiting behind you to finish, and if you have small kids, they love to "help" wash the car.

Can Glare Infinity Plus be used on tinted windows?

Yes. Cleaning tinted windows is totally safe and highly recommended. The tint film will not be damaged. You should also use it on the inside of the rear window where the heating elements are. There are many recommended ways of cleaning the inside windshield (i.e. the inside front window or windscreen). Some people recommend Windex, others methylated spirits with newspapers and many other methods. The main problem with virtually all methods streaking. When it's dark outside and you meet traffic, streaking can obscure your vision very severly. Glare Infinity Plus is the ideal cleaner for the inside of the wind screen. No streaks left behind, and it's very easy to ensure no areas are missed.

What is Silica?

sil·i·ca
Silica (SiO2) is a hard glassy material found in quartz, sand and opal. It is the basic component of glass as well as of ceramic glazes and is insoluble in water or acids except hydrofluoric acid. Silica is inert. This means it is chemically inactive. Silica should not be confused with silicon.

Is Glare Infinity Plus a Cut and Polish?

No. No paint or clear coat is removed.

Can an orbital buffer be used?

Yes, but make sure it's not spinning too fast or it may generate too much heat and affect the underlying paint.

Where can I buy Glare Infinity Plus

Here. If you're a first-timer, go for one of the DIY kits.

Where are you located?

For the purpose of having your car treated with Glare Infinity Plus professionally, you need to check how close your nearest Service Centre HERE.

Does Glare Infinity Plus require "topping up"?

Not generally. If you use the recommended car wash (which is very economical and is included in the kit) and the non-scratch sponge, it will enhance the life of Glare Infinity Plus (usually well beyond 5 years). The car wash contains Glassplexin - just like Glare Infinity Plus does. If you do not use our recommeded car wash, you should re-apply Glare Infinity Plus from time to time. It really depends on how you wash your car. The worst case scenario is using a commercial DIY car wash station. In this case, you will start seeing scratches in the clear coat / Glassplexin after a few months. You then need to re apply Glare Infinity Plus to repair the damage.
